We know you're busy.

We know that drafting the right words for your emails, your social media or your website can be hard work when your race-organising mind is juggling several other tasks at the same time.

To make it as easy as possible to request reviews, we've drafted some examples for you. Simply copy/paste the text and amend as necessary.

Scenario 1: The race has just happened

On the evening of race day, have an email programmed to go out to all participants. Ideally, this should be a solus email just asking for reviews.

If this is not an option, and the review request needs to be added in the results and photos email, please make sure the request for reviews is on the top of the email so it doesn’t get ignored.

<aside> 💡 Offer an incentive for participants to review and a deadline by which their reviews need to be left on Racecheck by. 2-3 days before the deadline make sure you email them all again to remind them that the deadline for the draw is approaching and re-share the details for posting a review plus the prize to be won.

Example text:

“Dear John, Thank you for taking part in our race. We really hope you enjoyed the day and we would love it if you could spend 2 minutes sharing your race experience! We love to read your feedback and use a specialist event review platform from Racecheck to help us give you the best race experience each year. All reviews posted by (Insert date and give a 10 day window) will be entered into a draw and one (or more) lucky reviewer will win a free entry to next year’s race (or any other prize you can offer). Leave a review here (include your events specific share link to collect reviews) or via our Racecheck Review Box which can be found on the bottom (right/left) corner of our website (attach link).”

Besides sending an email, you can also post on your social media announcing the competition for a free entry - don’t forget to tag Racecheck so we can share your post! Make sure that you announce your winner on Social Media and don’t forget to contact them so that they can claim their prize!

Scenario 2: The race happened a few months ago (or in the past)

You can ask for reviews retrospectively at any point after a race has happened. Obviously asking on race day is more effective, but this is a great way to re-engage with past participants and encourage them to remember their experience at your event and re-enter or look at your other events.
